Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury on Monday alleged that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party was trying to get benefit by creating instability at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.

"BNP is unable to contest in the street. That is why they have been practicing their politics in a different way," he said.

The deputy minister made the comments at a press conference arranged to brief journalists about the recent unrest at public universities, including the Buet and Jahangirnagar University.

He also called upon the guardians to convince their children so that they withdraw their movement at Buet.

The press conference was held at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital.
