Bangabandhu’s birth centenary observed at CTG’s NMI

The National Maritime Institute observed the day with various activities

The National Maritime Institute (NMI) celebrated the 101st birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children's Day on 17 March in Chattogram.

The institute's Principal Captain Faisal Azim hoisted the national flag and laid a wreath at Bangabandhu's portrait to start the celebration, read a press release.

A colourful procession – participated in by all the instructors, employees and trainees of the institution – was later led out from the NMI campus. It passed by strategic points at Soltgola in the port city.

During the celebration, a cake was also cut and balloons were released.

Later, discussions and a dua mahfil were held.

A special munajat from dua mahfil prayed for the departed soul of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the welfare of the present Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family.
