All BPSC exams suspended until March 31

All scheduled examinations  under the Bangladesh Public Service Commission(BPSC) will remain suspended until March 31 due to global coronavirus outbreak, said its chairman Dr Muhammed Sadique on Monday.

"All scheduled examinations under BPSC have been suspended until March 31," he told UNB.

Earlier of the day, Education Minister Dipu Moni announced that all the educational institutions of the country will remain shut till March 31.

The decision came after Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) director Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora announced the detection of three new coronavirus patients, including two children, and confirmed that the virus has started transmitting locally.

So far, the country has recorded eight coronavirus cases.

The death toll from coronavirus or COVID-19 reached 6,516 globally as of Monday. It has so far infected 169,552 people around the world, according to worldometer.
