The admission process for higher secondary students under the 2020-21 academic session will begin on August 9 and continue till September 15.
The education ministry took the decision at an emergency meeting today.
The details of the process will be uploaded on the ministry's website later, Public Relations Officer of the ministry Abul Khair told The Business Standard.
Last year, the higher secondary educational institutions started their classes on July 1.
The education ministry published this year's SSC results on May 30 last, after a delay of one month due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Under 11 education boards across the country, over 16.90 lakh students out of over 20.40 lakh passed the exams from 28,796 institutions and 3,603 centres this year.
The SSC exams started on February 3 and continued till March 5, three days before Bangladesh reported its first three coronavirus cases.
