Economic wheels of the country are turning: Health Minister

Malek said the world is surprised by the control of coronavirus cases in Bangladesh, made possible by the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Health Minister Zahid Malek on Saturday said that while the whole world is struggling to deal with the adverse effects of the coronavirus pandemic,the economic wheels of Bangladesh are turning.

The minister made these remarks while attending the inaugural ceremony of a six-storey academic building of Government Bhiku Memorial College in Saturia upazila of Manikganj.  

Malek said the world is surprised by the control of coronavirus cases in Bangladesh, made possible by the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

People far and wide have praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The nation's development activities, such as the Padma Bridge project, are proceeding full steam ahead, and factories are operating in the country, he mentioned.

The minister further said that Europe, America, and our neighboring countries, including India, and developed countries around the world are in crisis with an alarming increase in coronavirus cases. Europe has imposed lockdown again to deal with the onslaught of the virus.  People around the world are in a desperate situation, with many havinglost their jobs, compared to Bangladesh, which has taken good control.

Government Bhiku Memorial College Principal Prof Muhammad Shaheen; SaturiaUpazila Chairman Adv Abdul Majid Fotu;UpazilaAwami League President Fazlur Rahman; General Secretary Afaz Uddin, were present on the occasionamong others.
