EC bans laminated poster campaigns in CCC polls
A mobile court will take action against any candidate who uses laminated posters

The Election Commission (EC) has banned the use of laminated posters and leaflets for conducting electoral campaigns at the upcoming Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) polls.
Returning Officer Mohammad Hasanuzzaman confirmed this on Monday.
The decision was taken to make the election atmosphere environment-friendly.
A mobile court will take action against any candidate who uses laminated posters, the returning officer said.
The CCC polls is scheduled to be held on March 29.
Earlier in the year, the use of polythene in posters and leaflets in the Dhaka mayoral polls had led to a writ being filed at the High court regarding the ban on laminated posters in election campaigns.
On January 22, the High Court bench of Justice Enayetur Rahim and Mustafizur Rahman had ordered to stop the production and display of plastic laminated posters across the country for city elections and other campaigns.
