Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) have fixed 22 spots for seting up makeshift cattle markets ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, the second biggest religious festivals of the Muslims.

DSCC decided to set up cattle market in 13 spots while DNCC in nine places.

"Despite the high demand for cattle markets, it has been decided to set up markets in 13 places. Each market will have a separate control room," said Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh today.

"There will also be booths on health awareness. Besides, cattle markets will not be allowed on any playground," the DSCC Mayor added.

Meanwhile, DNCC Mayor Md Atiqul Islam said that one lakh masks will be distributed in the DNCC cattle markets.

Besides, 6 lakh polythene bags, 20,000 eco-friendly bags will be distributed.

The online cattle market was experimented last year and will be done on a large scale this year, he added.

Besides, 250 places have been fixed for slaughtering sacrificial animals.

Along with these, hotline number has been launched.
