DSCC to set up 11 cattle markets

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has fixed 11 spots to set up  makeshift cattle markets ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

The DSCC authorities took the decision on Sunday, said a press release signed by Md Abu Naser, DSCC public relations officer.

The spots are Uttar Shahjahanpur Moitri Songho Math, Hazaribag Leather Technology College Math, Postogola Shoshan Ghat , Kamalapur Little Friends Club and Aftabnagar haat,Meradia bazar, Dania College Math, Dupkhola Math, open places adjoining Dholaikhal Truck Terminal, Amulia Model Town and Rahmatganj Khelar Math.

This time, cattle markets will be set up in open areas under the city corporations  to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Sunday said they are ready to strongly monitor the cattle market but awareness among the mass people will be much more effective.

Bangladesh on Tuesday reported the death of 41 more patients from  Covid-19 disease in the last 24 hours, raising the death tally to 2,709.

Health authorities have detected 3,057 new coronavirus infections across the country after conducting 12,898 tests. The daily infection rate has increased to 23.70 percent while overall 19.96 percent of people have been found infected against 10,54,559 tests conducted.

The number of total cases in Bangladesh is currently 2,10,510 which put  it as the 16th worst-hit country globally.
