DSCC mobile court sends 1 to prison, fines 2

The individual sent to prison had been illegally demanding toll payments from CNGs and tempos

A mobile court of Dhaka South City Corporation sent one person to jail, for illegally collecting tolls at Demra Staff Quarter Circle, on Sunday. 

The person, named Jaynal Abedin, was sentenced to serve seven days in prison. 

The DSCC decided to initiate the mobile court immediately after receiving complaints that some people were illegally collecting tolls from tempos and CNGs at Demra Staff Quarter Circle. 

Upon reaching the scene, the court saw Jaynal Abedin collecting Tk50 as a toll from each of the tempos and CNGs passing by. 

Executive Magistrate of the mobile court Mohammad Moniruzzaman caught Joynal red-handed and sent him to prison. 

At the same time, two others were fined Tk3,000 for building two temporary shops on the city corporation's land.
