‘Drug trader’ killed in Sherpur clash

A suspected drug trader was killed in a clash between two groups of criminals over controlling drug business at Dhandhania village in Sribordi upazila on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Tara Mia, 22, son of Ratan Mia.
Quoting witnesses, Ruhul Amin Talukdar, officer-in-charge of Sribordi Police Station, said there was an enmity between Tara Mia and Mahfuz over controlling drug business in the area.
As a sequel to the enmity, the supporters of both groups attacked each other around 8 pm, leaving Tara injured.
Later, he died on way to Sherpur District hospital.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to a hospital morgue.
Police arrested two people in this connection.
