‘Drug dealer’ killed in Kushtia ‘shootout’
Criminals there opened fire on police, leading to a three-way gunfight

A suspected drug dealer was killed in an alleged gunfight among police and two groups of 'drug peddlers' at Mollateghoria Kanalpara in Sadar upazila on early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Sujon Malitha, 30, son of Ismail Malitha of Takimara village in the upazila.
Sujon was wanted in several criminal cases, said police.
A police patrol went to the spot hearing sounds of gunshots around 2am, said Nasir Uddin, officer-in-charge of Kushtia Model Police Station.
Criminals there opened fire on police, leading to a three-way gunfight.
Sujon's body was recovered after the skirmish, the OC said. A pistol, a bullet, 50 bottles of phensedyl and 300 Yaba pills were also recovered from the spot.
