DNCC to launch “Nagar App” on New Year’s day

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) is going to launch "Nagar App" on the first day of the New Year to help citizens communicate with it directly.

DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam made the announcement during the city corporation's live briefing on the social media platform Facebook on Tuesday.

"I am very happy to announce that our new app is going to be launched on January 1, 2021. Through this, the city dwellers will be able to directly inform us about their problems, opinions, suggestions, etc," Atiqul said during the briefing.

"My election promise was to build an ideal Dhaka city in association with all and this is a step towards that promise," added the mayor.

He added that all officials of the city corporation, including himself, must be accountable to the city dwellers.

"As I am accountable to the people today, all the officials and employees of the city corporation must be accountable to me," he warned.

The mayor said he would look into the legal aspects to help the city people gain direct access to various meetings of the corporation in future.
