DNCC finds Aedes larvae in 129 houses, DSCC in 2 houses

The DNCC teams conducted drives in 10,840 houses and installations

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) found Aedes mosquito larvae in 129 houses today during special drives conducted to contain dengue outbreaks.

However, at the same time, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) found Aedes larvae in two houses, the city corporations' officials said.

As part of their special cleaning and combing drive against dengue, the DNCC teams conducted drives in 10,840 houses and installations.

Apart from detecting Aedes larvae, the teams also found the environment of 6,138 houses and installations favorable for Aedes mosquito breeding. The DNCC officials destroyed all of the breeding points, however.

The DNCC Executive Magistrate Saleha Binte Siraj fined a house owner of Mirpur Tk 10,000 after finding Aedes larvae in his property.

Five mobile teams of the DSCC conducted a special drive in 140 houses and found Aedes larvae in two Panthapath houses.

The DSCC executive magistrates fined those two house owners Tk 70,000 each.

The officials also fined another house owner Tk 10,000 as they found the environment in his house suitable for Aedes mosquito breeding.
