DNCC, DSCC claim to have cleaned almost 100% animal waste

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) have claimed that almost 100 percent wastes of sacrificial animals have been removed from all the wards.
The waste removal work was carried out from 2pm to 12:30am.
DSCC Public Relations Officer Md Abu Naser said 100pc wastes has been removed from eight wards while 95pc from 16 wards' and 90 pc from nine wards.
Meanwhile, DNCC has completely cleared up the sacrificial animal waste from 60 wards by 22 July 12:30 am.
A notice by the DNCC mentions the 60 wards are- 3, 5, 7, 9, 13-44, 46-61, 66-75.
About 95% of waste has been removed from ward 45.
Some 90% of waste has been removed from wards 1, 4, 6, 7, and 14.
In the remaining wards, an average of 85% of waste has been removed.
DNCC Mayor Md Atiqul Islam said the entire area of the DNCC has been cleared of 100% waste by 12 midnight on the first day of Eid-ul Adha.
While inspecting the removal of sacrificial animal waste in different areas of DNCC on Thursday morning, the mayor said, "A total of 11,508 workers are working to remove the sacrificial animal waste this time under a special cleaning programme in 54 wards of 10 areas of DNCC."
He said that a control room has been set up in Nagar Bhaban of Gulshan regarding the removal. The numbers to the control room are 0258814220, 09602222333 and 0960222334.
The DNCC mayor said that "Shobar Dhaka" mobile app can be used to inform the DNCC in addition to the control room numbers.
He said, "6,50,000 waste bags, 50 tonnes of bleaching powder and 1,005 cans of 5 litre pack Savlon were distributed among the city dwellers so that no unhealthy environment is created anywhere in the city."
To prevent Aedes mosquitoes from breeding, the mayor advised to keep homes and surroundings clean so that no one dies of dengue and chikungunya during the coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, the notice sent by DSCC mentions the cleared up wards are- 10, 32, 34, 36, 38, 39, 43, and 66.
About 95% of waste has been removed from 16 wards, which are- 3, 9, 19, 20, 25, 28, 35, 41, 42, 46, 47, 52, 53, 54, 57, and 71.
And 90% of waste has been removed from ward 23, 31, 31, 33, 40, 44, 45, 48, 50, and 56.
