DMP bans arms, demo around JS
The restrictions will remain in effect until the session concludes

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on carrying all sorts of arms, explosives and other harmful objects as well as any kind of demonstration, meeting, procession and rally in some areas around Jatiya Sangsad (JS) from 12am on June 10 to ensure smooth functioning of the third JS session.
DMP informed about the ban through a press release on June 9.
The restrictions have been imposed under the Section 28 and 29 of Police Ordinance 1976 to ensure ‘peach and discipline’ in and around the parliament house.
The third (budget) session of the parliament will begin on June 11.
This is the first budget session since the Awami League government assumed office for the third consecutive terms in January this year.
The restrictions will remain in effect until the session concludes, the DMP release said.
The areas which will remain under the purview of the ban are: Mohakhali Crossing to Banglamotor Crossing via Old Airport Road, Banglamotor Link Road (West end) up to SAARC Fountain on Hotel Sonargaon Road, Panthapath (East end) to Farmgate via Green Road Crossing, Shyamoli Point on Mirpur Road to Dhanmondi-16 (Old-27) Crossing, Rokeya Sarani Crossing to Bijoy Sarani Crossing via 9th Division (Air) Crossing, the east end of the Farmgate Indira Road to the west end of the Manik Mia Avenue, and the reserved area in the parliament house and all roads and alleys around the JS area.
