Two groups clash in Brahmanbaria violating lockdown

Brahmanbaria is in lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus. But two groups there clashed on Sunday in violation of the lockdown.

At least 30 people were injured and one person's leg was cut off during the clash over establishing dominance in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria.

Local people say that there is a rivalry between Krishnagar Union Parishad Chairman Jillur Rahman and Kausar Molla, a resident of Thanakandi village. Members of the two groups clashed on Sunday morning. One party cut off the leg of a man named Mobarok Mia and then carried out a victory rally.

Makbul Hossen, the additional superintendent of police of Nabinagar said, "The situation is under control now. Additional police have been deployed in that area. Twenty people have been arrested for involvement in the clash."
