Ship catches fire at Chattogram port

Chittagong Port Director (Traffic) Enamul Karim confirmed the matter and said that the fire was brought under control using the port's own fire trucks and tugboats 'Kandari 7' and 'Kandari 12'

A fire broke out on a Panama flagged ship named Izumo at the general cargo berth (GCB) jetty no 6 at around 5:30 pm on Wednesday.

Chittagong Port Director (Traffic) Enamul Karim confirmed the matter and said that the fire was brought under control using the port's own fire trucks and tugboats 'Kandari 7' and 'Kandari 12'.

However, no severe fire damages were reported at the port.

According to the berthing information of the ship at Chittagong port, the 8-meter draft and 147.20-meter-long chartered vessel reached Chittagong port from Shanghai on June 28.
