Nowfel handed over the cash assistance on behalf of the ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury Foundation

Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel has donated TK3 lakh for providing incentives to temporary workers of the Chattogram General Hospital.

Nowfel, the lawmaker of Chattogram-9 constituency, handed over the cash assistance to the port city's Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi on behalf of the ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury Foundation on Saturday.

The foundation is named after Nowfel's father, a noted Bangladeshi politician and former mayor of Chattogram city who passed away in 2017.

The deputy minister for education made the donation while visiting the Holy Crescent Hospital, which provides healthcare to Covid-19 patients. During Nowfel's visit, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi informed him about the oxygen shortage in that hospital.

Hearing about the problem, Nowfel requested former mayor of Chittagong M Monjurul Alam – owner of Nowfel Golden Oxygen Ltd – to provide uninterrupted oxygen supply to the hospital. Alam then agreed to the request.
