Demanding the resumption of classes and examinations, the students of Chittagong Polytechnic Institute on Sunday staged a protest in the GEC intersection area in the port city.
Over one hundred students of the institution started a procession from the institute at 11 am and later took position at the GEC intersection area disrupting the traffic temporarily.
However, in the presence of law enforcement agency members, the protest ended peacefully at noon.

"Polytechnic students raised a four-point demand at the protest. They started at 11 am and observed the programme till 12 noon. There was no chaos," he added.
The students also demanded the withdrawal of all additional fees and halving the semester fees at all private polytechnic institutes and increasing the number of seats in other technical universities by 2021.
