Dhaka’s 10% areas are dengue prone: Report

Ten percent of Dhaka North City Corporation and 12 percent of Dhaka South City Corporation are at risk of dengue, according to the Health Department's post-monsoon survey report.

The report also said that Ward No. 12, 16, 28 and 31 and Uttara sector-4 are dengue-prone areas of Dhaka North. Ward No. 5, 6, 11, 16, 36 and 41 in Dhaka South are prone to Aedes mosquitos.

The report also said that under-construction buildings are responsible for about 40 percent of the main source of Aedes descent.

The report has been prepared based on information from 1,000 houses of 100 areas in the capital.
