Dhaka University Teachers' Association (Duta) will form a human chain on the campus tomorrow (Wednesday) protesting the rape of a second year student of the university.

The DU student was violated on Sunday night while she was walking from Kurmitola bus stop to a friend's house in a nearby area around 7:30pm.

Duta took the decision at an emergency meeting today.

Condemning the incident, Duta President Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal told The Business Standard that the association will hold a human chain at the foot of Aparajeyo Bangla tomorrow demanding immediate arrest of the rapists and exemplary punishment of them.

He urged people from all walks of life to be united to eliminate the heinous activities like rape from the society.
