Dhaka North operates mobile courts to ensure hygiene maintenance
DNCC officials said mobile court drives will continue in the coming days to ensure the maintenance of hygiene rules during the ongoing lockdown.
The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Wednesday operated four mobile courts in different areas under its jurisdiction to ensure that people abide by hygiene rules to curb Covid infections.
Saleha Binte Siraj, regional executive officer and executive magistrate of Mirpur-10 zone, conducted a drive in the Mirpur-14 section area, said a press statement.
During the drive, seven people were fined Tk700 for not wearing face masks.
On the other hand, Md Masud Hossain, regional executive officer and executive magistrate of Karwan Bazar zone, led a mobile court in the Mohammadpur Krishi Market area.
During the drive, 54 people were fined Tk5400 for not wearing masks which is mandatory in the Covid-19 pandemic time.
Another mobile court was operated in the Dakkhin Khan Bazar area headed by Motakabbir Ahmed, the regional executive officer and executive magistrate of Dakkhin Khan.
He fined five restaurants Tk41,000 for selling food by violating the lockdown rules imposed by the government.
Meanwhile, a mobile court conducted in the Bhatara area levied a fine amounting to Tk10,700 in seven cases.
Md Abdullah Al Mamun, property officer and executive magistrate of DNCC, led the drive.
