Dhaka North evicts 300 illegal installations from Bhasantek
The mobile court also fined a person Tk50,000 for illegally occupying pavements with construction material

The Dhaka North City Corporation on Sunday conducted drives against 300 illegal structures on pavements and roads in the capital's Bhasantek area.
A mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Sajid Anwar evicted illegal makeshift shops and structures from Mirpur-14 to the Bhasantek intersection.
The mobile court also fined a person Tk50,000 for illegally occupying pavements with construction material. It also sentenced a bamboo trader to 15-day imprisonment as he failed to pay a fine of Tk1 lakh for keeping bamboos on the pavement.
The mobile court freed 30,000 square feet of area from encroachers and cleared it for pedestrians.
Dhaka North officials said the eviction drive would continue.
