DGFP celebrates Bangabandhu’s historic 7 March speech

Health Minister Zahid Maleque was the programme’s chief guest

The Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP), on Sunday, observed the auspicious Golden Jubilee of the historic 7 March Speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with due respect, solemnity and fervour.

The day's programmes included: a discussion, a Bangabandhu corner inspection, the unveiling of a display board of Bangabandhu's historic 7 March speech, the unveiling of the cover of a booklet of the historic 7 March speech, and special prayers, said a press release.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque graced the programme as its chief guest, with DGFP Director General (Grade 1) Shahan Ara Banu in the chair.

Health, Education and Family Planning Division secretary Md Ali Noor, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University vice chancellor professor Kanak Kanti Barua addressed the programme held at the DGFP's office.

National Institute of Population Research and Training DG Md Shahjahan and Directorate General of Health Education DG Professor Dr AHM Enayet Hossain also spoke at the programme.

Senior officials of the health ministry, directors, deputy directors, officials of different units of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) were also present at the programme.

Officers of DGHS divisional offices and district offices also connected with the event virtually.

The minister distributed prizes among the winners of a speech contest – held on the occasion of the historic 7th March – participated in by family welfare visitors who are being trained at the Family Welfare Visitors' Training Institute in Azimpur, Dhaka.
