Dengue cases on the rise in Chattogram
The large number of dengue cases is forcing hospitals to keep them in different wards
The number of patients being treated for dengue fever in Chattogram is on the rise.
Around ninety-nine dengue patients were admitted to the Chattogrom Medical College (CMC) in the last 24 hours until Saturday.
As per district civil surgeon sources, 119 dengue patients are being treated in Chattogram. The large number of dengue cases is forcing hospitals to keep them in different wards.
Necessary steps have been taken from the civil surgeon's office to treat the patients said chattogram civil surgeon's officer Nurul Haider.
“A control room has also been opened to monitor cases,” he said.
According to the civil surgeon's office, in 2017, 66 dengue patients were hospitalised, while the number increased significantly to 177 in 2018.
Usually, dengue cases increase during the monsoon. Doctors fear that the number of dengue patients will break all previous records in Chattogram.
