A worker was killed and another injured critically in a gas cylinder blast at Ananda Shipyard in Narayanganj's Meghnaghat on Saturday morning.

The deceased is Sabbir, 25, and his elder brother Robin, 37, was injured in the explosion.

Sonargaon Police Station's Officer-in-Charge Moniruzzaman said: "Sabbir died on the spot in the blast while working in the shipyard and Robin was injured."

They were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), the OC added.

DMCH Outpost In-Charge Mohammad Khan said: "Sabbir has suffered 95% burns and being treated at the hospital."
