CTO meeting kicks off in Dhaka Monday
More than 300 delegates from commonwealth countries are expected to join the CTO council meeting
The five-day-long Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) Council Meeting, and ICT and Telecommunications Forum will begin on Monday in Dhaka with the theme "Towards a Digital Commonwealth".
More than 300 delegates from commonwealth countries are expected to join the 59th edition of the CTO council meeting and annual forum.
The Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) are jointly hosting the event. Posts and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar will inaugurate the event at Hotel Intercontinental in the capital.
CTO's acting General Secretary Gisa Fuatai Purcell, and International Program Manager Robert Hayman are already in Dhaka to oversee the preparation.
The CTO annual forum is an import platform for member countries, regulators and stakeholders.
This edition of the CTO forum will focus on broadband planning for digitisation, the changing nature of global service fund, cyber security, data protection policy and frequency management.
