Miscreants attacked the family and hacked them indiscriminately on their necks and heads with sharp weapons

Police have recovered the bodies of a woman and her two minor children from Gowainghat upazila in Sylhet.

The deceased were identified as Alima Begum, 30, Mizan, 10, and Tanisha, 3. Besides, Alima Begum's husband Hifzur Rahman was rescued as critically injured. He has been admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

"The incident took place in Fatehpur area of the upazila on Tuesday night," said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gowainghat Police Station Abdul Ahad.

Quoting to locals, the OC said that miscreants attacked the family and hacked them indiscriminately on their necks and heads with sharp weapons.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to the hospital for autopsy.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Lutfur Rahman of District police (Media) said, "Multiple teams of police were working to investigate the incident. However, the motive for the killings has not yet been confirmed."
