The weapons, ammunition and clothing items might belong to alleged terrorists dwelling in the nearby hills.

Police have recovered locally-made weapons, ammunition, and clothing resembling military uniforms from the deep forest of Ukhia in Cox's Bazar.

"Being tipped off, police conducted a drive in the hill area on Friday night and unearthed four locally-made weapons, four rifles along with six cartridges, and several sets of uniforms like military," said Abul Mansur, officer-in-charge of Ukhia Police Station.

No one was arrested so far in this regard, the OC added.

Locals from the North Barabil area said that strangers had been coming to the hill town and its neighbouring hills during midnight over past few months. Maybe these weapons, ammunition and clothing items belong to them.
