The arrestee was not named.

Kushtia district police arrested him with the help of the cybercrime unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Khairul Alam, additional superintendent of the CID, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

He said, "Because of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, several organisations have started hotline services for helping people. The teenager repeatedly called those hotline numbers and harassed the female operators."

"The teenager confessed his involvement in the crime. Even though his father had bought him the mobile phone, he was not aware of his son's activity," added Khairul.
