Son hammers mother to death in Rajshahi

A drug addict son has brutally hammered his mother to death in Rajshahi’s Godagari on Sunday night.
The deceased is Selina, 50, wife of one Sahabuddin Master of Arichpur village.
Godagari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahangir Alam said the culprit son Salek often used to take money for forcibly from his family for buying drugs. He again asked for money to his mother last night in absence of his father.
When his mother refused to give money, he started hitting his mother with hammer, leaving her dead on the spot. He fled the scene afterwards.
Salek, 32, the addicted son passed his masters from Rajshahi College and used to work in a private company. He lost his job recently due to addiction.
“The dead body has been sent to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for autopsy”, said OC Jahangir Alam.
“We are trying to arrest Salekin”, he added.
