Robber arrested with firearms in Noakhali

Police arrested a robber along with firearms from Bijbagh area under Senbag Police Station in Noakhali on Wednesday.

The arrestee was identified as  Dawood Hossain, 24, son of Mostafa alias Manik of Bijbag.

Senbag Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Baten Mridha said, "Acting on trip-off,  a police team, led by Sub-inspectors-- Saiful Islam, Tarkeur Rahman, Al Amin and Sabuj Chandra Paul, nabbed the robber along with a locally made Pipe gun and three rounds cartridges."

The young man has long been involved in different types of crimes, including snatching, robbery and so on. He used to snatch in early life, later got involved in robbery. In the recent days, he used to collect extortion from people creating panic by the firearms, the OC said. 

There are five cases against him at Senbagh Police Station, the OC further said, adding that a fresh case was filed against him over the arms recovery.
