The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Thursday detained a youth in Khulna for spreading rumours about the coronavirus on Facebook. 

The detainee, Miraj Al Saadi, 30, is a resident of the Mozgunni residential area. This information was provided in a press release from RAB-6.

RAB-6 sources said Miraj was spreading rumors and creating panic among people by posting offensive campaigns on Facebook. He was detained based on this complaint. 

Law enforcers seized two mobile phones, three SIM cards, one memory card and two screenshots of his Facebook posts.

He was in the process of being transferred to the Khalishpur police station at the time of writing this report.
