A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) has jailed a quack for two years and sealed off his chamber in Shanti Nagar area of the capital city on Monday.

He was identified as Nurussafa Jahangir.

Palash Kumar Basu, executive magistrate of Rab, said the 37-year-old man had been treating people though he did not have any degree on medical science or minimum professional training.

The executive magistrate also said the man studied up to secondary level. Then he opened a chamber - Oral View Dental Chamber - in Shanti Nagar area, identified himself as a professional dental surgeon, and had been treating patients for over a decade, after managing a fake Bachelor of Dental Surgery certificate.

On Monday afternoon, Rab conducted a drive at his chamber and handed down the punishment.
