Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained Mohammedan Sporting Club Director Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan from his residence at Tejgaon's Monipuri Para tonight.
The elite force cordoned off his house from 11:30pm and detained him at around 12:15am midnight.
Ashik Billah, Commanding Officer of RAB-2 said: "We got a tip-off that he was at his house. A team arrested him afterwards for possession of illegal foreign liquors."
Earlier, Police found gambling equipment at Mohammedan Sporting Club on September 22 during a raid as part of nationwide drive against illegal casinos and gambling.
Police said illegal casino business and gambling activities had been running there for at least a decade.
