Man held with 1,190 yaba pills at HSIA

Security forces of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) detained a man with 1,190 yaba tablets at the domestic terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday.

The arrestee is Alamgir Molla, 45, son of Chan Miha Molla of Basudia village under Louhajang upazila in Munshiganj district.

Police arrested Alamgir while he was suspiciously walking at the car parking zone adjacent to the domestic terminal at around 10 am yesterday, said Md Alamgir Hossain Shimul, additional police super (ops and media) of Armed Police Battalion (APBn).

Later, police recovered the tablets from his stomach.

Officer in-charge of airport police station Md Nure Azam Miah told BSS that a case was filed in this regard under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018.

The arrestee was sent to the court after interrogation, the official said.
