Liquid cocaine worth Tk5,000cr destroyed in Chattogram
The cocaine was buried to the ground of Rab-7 headquarters in Patenga area of the port city
Law enforcers, on Wednesday, have destroyed liquid cocaine worth Tk5,000 crore that was confiscated from Chittagong port back in 2015 by Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate.
The contraband item was buried to the ground at Rab-7 headquarters in Patenga area of the port city.
Back on June 6, 2015, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate confiscated an entire shipment of sunflower oil based on a tip-off from police.
The shipment arrived from Montevideo of Uruguay via Singapore.
Several tests, conducted in the laboratories of the Department of Narcotics Control and Crime Investigation Department (CID), till June 27 found the presence of liquid cocaine in one drum out of 107.
A case under the Narcotics Control Act was filed against Nur Mohammad, chairman of the importer agency Khan Jahan Ali Limited on June 27. The case is still under trial.
