Huge amount of leather products, made from the skin of wild animals, have been seized from a shop at capital's Paribagh Super Market today.
Some 286 showpieces, made from hides of different animals, were recovered from the shop named Craft Corner.
Ashim Mallik, Inspector of Wildlife Crime Control Unit, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
He added that Craft Corner will be sued under the Wildlife (Conservation and Security) Act, 2012.
Rapid Action Battalion and Wildlife Crime Control Unit (WCCU) jointly carried out the drive, which was led by Jahir Uddin Akon, Director of WCCU.
