The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) is still searching for Regent Hospital Chairman Mohammad Shahed alias Shahed Karim, who made headlines following raids on his hospital.

He has not been arrested yet, Lt Col Ashik Billah, RAB director (legal and media wing), told The Business Standard.

Police, RAB, detectives, and the Police Bureau of Investigation are working separately to locate and arrest Shahed.

Law enforcers are closely monitoring his family members and his social media activities.

Sources said Shahed was running illegal activities using new strategies, and is using those techniques while in hiding. He used to introduce himself as chairman of 11 business organisations, and editor of a daily newspaper. Using those identities, Shahed called high officials of the government to take advantage illegally.

Earlier, a RAB team raided the Regent Group head office in the capital's Uttara area, and seized Shahed's passport and computer from the kitchen.
