Four JMB leaders arrested in Bogura

Bogura police and the Lawful Interception Unit (LIC) Dhaka arrested them at Mokamtala area of the upazila

Four top leaders of the banned militant group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) were arrested last night in Bogura's Shibganj upazila.

The arrestees are JMB north Bengal chief Ataur Rahman alias Arafat, north Bengal treasurer Mizanur Rahman, chief of Gaibandha unit Jahurul Islam and chief of Bogura unit Mizanur Rahman.

Bogura police and the Lawful Interception Unit (LIC) Dhaka arrested them at Mokamtala area of the upazila, said Superintendent of Police Arifur Rahman Mandal.

He said police seized 10-12 grenade-making elements, a pistol, three rounds of bullets and a machete from the arrestees.

The Bogura police will produce them before district court with 10 days of remand plea in two cases under arms and explosives law.
