Death toll from spurious liquor rises to 10 in Bogura

Another three people have died after drinking spurious liquor in Bogura, taking the death toll tally to 10. 

Earlier, seven people died in the district. 

The deceased were- Ramzan Ali, 40, Premnath and his son Sumon Robidas, 36, tea seller Saju,55, cook Mozahar Ali, 77, Palash Miah, 40, Abdur Rahim, 38. They died from Sunday night to early Monday.  

Besides, two rickshaw pullers - Abdul Jalil, 65 and Julfikar Rahman, 56, and Abu Kalam, died on Monday afternoon. 

They died after drinking spurious liquor in different areas of the district, Officer-in-Charge Humayun Kabir confirmed the matter to The Business Standard on Tuesday morning. 

Besides, several people are also undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, who fell sick after drinking liquor. 

A case was filed with Bogura Police Station in this connection mentioning names of three people.

The accused people are- Shahinur Rahman Shahin, owner of Khan Homeo Halla, Nur Alam, owner of Parul Homeo Hall and Nur Nabi, owner of Punam Homeo Hall. 

Earlier, on Sunday noon and Monday, three employees of two public relations firms died after taking spurious liquor at a resort in Gazipur.
