Chattogram Customs seizes two pistols courier posted from Italy

The Foreign Post section of Chattogram Customs House seized two 8 mm pistols and 60 cartridges on Sunday, sent from Italy by courier postal service as household items.

Two other fake pistols were also recovered by Chattogram Customs officials when they opened the consignment, said Mohammad Salahuddin Rizvi, deputy commissioner (prevention) of Chattogram Customs. 

Chattogram Customs is preparing to file cases against both the sender and the receiver of the package.  

Salahuddin Rizvi said Rajib Barua, an expatriate in Italy, sent the parcel to Kamrul Hasan, a resident of CGS Colony in the port city.

In the paper carton, there were other household commodities like a frying pan, hand blender, and cosmetics, he added.
