Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court has granted a three-day remand of Mosaddeq Soad, the owner of Moyur-2 launch.

"He was granted a three-day remand after the investigating officer of the case produced him before the court with a seven-day remand plea," Rezaul Karim Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Sadarghat Police Station told The Business Standard.

Mosaddeq Soad was arrested by the river police on Wednesday in connection with the sinking of a passenger launch named ML Morning Bird in the Buriganga river.

Earlier, police also arrested Abdus Salam, supervisor of "MV Moyur" launch.

On June 30, police filed a case with Keraniganj Police Station against seven people over the incident.

On June 29, more than 30 people were killed when launch "Morning Bird" capsized in the Buriganga River after "MV Moyur" horrifically crashed into it.
