Central jail restricts visitors until further notice

Central Jail authorities have stopped allowing prisoners to meet with their relatives as the country is going to enforce a 7-day lockdown from Monday.

Confirming the matter, Jailer Mahbubur Rahman said, the order will be effective from today.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh government imposed a 7-day countrywide lockdown, starting from Monday, primarily as Covid-19 situation has taken a very dangerous turn here.

Besides, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Shafiqul Islam said police will get stricter with its enforcement of the new nationwide lockdown. None will be allowed to breach lockdown and hygiene rules.
