A case has been filed against Fardin Iftekhar Dihan over the rape and murder of an O-level student of Mastermind School in the capital.
Dihan, 18, the "boyfriend" of the victim, has been mentioned as the prime accused of the case filed with Kalabagan Police Station by the victim's father.
Abul Hasan, assistant commissioner of New Market Zone police, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard, stating the case was recorded on Thursday midnight.
According to the case statement, the 17-year-old girl left home around 11:45am on Thursday, for collecting some study materials from her coaching center when her parents were at their respective workplaces.
Around two hours later, victim's mother received a call from Dihan who told that her daughter went to his residence and got fainted all of a sudden. Later, he took her to Anwer Khan Modern Hospital.
Her mother rushed to the hospital where the duty doctor informed her that her daughter was murdered after rape.
"I learned that the accused took my eldest daughter to his residence tactfully around 12pm on Thursday. Taking the advantage of empty house, he raped my daughter. When she fell sick, the accused took her to Anwer Khan Medical College, to divert the incident to a different direction. But my daughter succumbed to her injuries at the emergency ward of the hospital," victim's father mentioned in the case.
However, Police arrested the 'boyfriend' and three others immediately after the incident on Thursday evening.
