Broker held for taking Tk 1.05 lakh from application for NID correction

The broker, Bahadur, took the money from a person named Nur Jamal Sheikh assuring that his age in the card would be reduced by 10 years.

A borker has been detained from the Election Commission's  ETI Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon on charge of taking Tk 1.05 lakh from an applicant.

The broker, Bahadur, took the money from a person named Nur Jamal Sheikh assuring that his age in the card would be reduced by 10 years.

Bahadur, hailed from Patuakhali, was detained from the EC's ETI Bhaban in the capital on Tuesday, said a press release of the EC's NID registration wing on Wednesday.

Jamal Sheikh said Bahadur assured him to reduce his age by 10 years in the NID card in exchange of total Tk 1.50 lakh and then he already paid the money  to Bahadur.

The applicant also said he needs to decrease his age data for getting his job permanent.

During the primary interrogation,  Bhadur also confessed that he took the money.
