Newlywed woman's body was found with her throat slit

Police have recovered the body of a woman from East Colony area of Bandar police station in Chattogram early Sunday morning.

The deceased, Surma Akhter Mim (20), who just got married 15 day ago, was found with her throat slit at the residence. Her husband, the prime suspect, Mohammed Jabed (22) has been reported missing since morning.

Bandar Police Station's Officer in-charge (OC), Sukanta Chakraborty said, "On information, we went to the colony and found the body. She was slaughtered and killed."

"The victim's husband is at large. We believe that her husband committed the murder following a family dispute," he added.

OC Sukanta further informed that family members of the deceased are on their way. If they file a case, then the next steps will be taken.
