Beheaded body found in luggage in Mymensingh

A decapitated body of a man was found inside a red luggage trolley near Patgudam bridge in Mymensingh city on Monday morning.

The bomb exposal unit of police opened the luggage after sealing off the area assuming that there might be a bomb inside the bag.

Local people informed a traffic police after seeing the luggage lying near the bridge since around 11:30 am on Sunday, according to the district police.

The traffic police informed the district police of the matter towards the evening.

Deputy Inspector General of Mymensingh Range Nibas Chandra Majhi, District Police Super Shah Abid Hossain and Chief Executive Officer of Rapid Action Battalion Lieutenant Eftekhar Uddin visited the place at night.

The head, legs and arms were severed from the body, which was wrapped in a plastic bag.

However, the body was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police are trying to recover the other body parts and ascertain the identity of the deceased.

"It is a cold-blooded murder," said Shah Abid.
