ACC investigating assets of additional DIG, his wife

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started investigating the assets of Additional DIG Mokhlesur Rahman and his wife Sharifa Begum Moni.
On Sunday, ACC Deputy Director Abu Bakar Siddique was appointed to look into the couple's assets.
Mokhlesur is currently working at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah, Rajshahi.
In October last year, the commission directed its Deputy Director Shaheen Ara Mumtaz to investigate the allegations of bribery and abuse of power against Mokhlesur.
Mokhlesur and his wife were instructed to file a statement of assets and they submitted a statement. And, based on the statement, Shaheen Ara submitted a report to the commission.
The report said the assets found in the couple's names were not commensurate with their legal income.
After scrutinising the report, the commission appointed Deputy Director Abu Bakar Siddique to investigate the couple's movable and immovable assets.
