Detectives on Sunday arrested another suspect in connection with the murder of Buet student Abrar Fahad.

The arrestee is identified as SM Mahmud Setu. With the arrest of Setu, a total of 21 accused have so far been arrested in connection with the murder.

A team of the detective branch (DB) of police arrested Setu from the city's Banglamotor area at around 7:00pm, said Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

Setu's name was not mentioned in the charge sheet, but he was arrested based on confessional statements of the other arrestees, the DMP official added.

During primary interrogation, Setu said he was a student of the 14th batch at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) and finished his BSc degree in chemical engineering this April.

He was a resident student of Sher-e-Bangla Hall.

After completion of his study, he started working at a company in Manikganj as a chemical engineer.
